At Studio PSAND (pronounced "sand"), our approach to architecture is to create spaces that are simple and straightforward, yet smart in their planning and design. Through our projects, we aim to blend local materials with modern concepts and create spaces that are sensitive to their surroundings. They respond to their contexts in a natural and balanced way, whether it is blending in or intervening more boldly to allow an appreciation of the surroundings, yet never overpowering it. We believe that while the design must arise from an understanding of the user’s lifestyle and functional requirements, the challenge lies in catering to these needs without compromising on the quality and aesthetics of the space. Drawing inspiration from our South East Asian tropical contexts, we are currently working on various architecture, interior and renovation projects in the city, and focus on bringing in natural light, ventilation and landscape to our designs.
TEAM

PRIYANKA SRIKRISHNA
After graduating from BMS College of Engineering in Bangalore, Priyanka moved to Sri Lanka to work at ADM Architects. In her time there, she had the opportunity to work on commercial, residential, landscape and community development projects and enjoyed designing in the tropical context. Travelling the island and studying Geoffrey Bawa’s exemplary work also helped her understand the evolution of the contemporary Asian style of modernism and develop a sensitivity to culture and context.
On her return, she joined Architecture Brio in Mumbai to further develop her interest for detailing and exploration of unconventional materials, building methods and design. The privilege of working at sites across the country, each with their own characteristic topography, climate and culture, enhanced her learning. She has led teams on a diverse range of projects and collaborating with experts in the industry together with local knowledge and skill has been an invaluable experience.

NEETHI DORAIRAJU
Neethi pursued her formal education at MEASI Academy of Architecture in Chennai, where she gained a strong foundation in design thinking and technical skills. She began her architectural journey as an intern at Kamat & Rozario Architecture, where she was first exposed to context driven, sustainable design and this early experience helped shape her design sensibilities, providing a strong foundation in the principles of contemporary Indian architecture.
Following her graduation, she moved to Mumbai to join the team at Architecture BRIO, where she further honed her skills in creating environmentally responsive, detail oriented spaces. Her time at Brio allowed her to engage deeply with projects that explored the intersection of architecture, landscape, and interior design. With a collaborative work environment and diverse projects, it was a place where she grew both professionally and personally.
